Ursula Funke-Kaiser
SEP trainer, member of the SEI (Somatic Experiencing International) Faculty, HPP
Ursula Funke-Kaiser studied law and worked as a judge for several years before beginning her training in body and breath therapy, as well as art therapy. Following her insatiable curiosity, she also pursued training in Jungian psychotherapy. She is a naturopath specialized in psychotherapy.
After meeting Peter Levine, her professional focus shifted to trauma therapy using Somatic Experiencing®. She has co-led several trainings with Peter Levine in Germany, Switzerland, Denmark, and Israel, and she is a trainer for the 3-year Professional Training program in Germany.
Ursula was previously a board member of the German Somatic Experiencing® Association, and she is passionate about promoting the SE® method within the healthcare system. She runs her own practice in Stuttgart, as she finds working with her own clients particularly valuable when teaching the method. She was also the chairwoman of an association that operated a psychotherapeutic hospital, a family support center, and a professional training center. She is a Zen practitioner in the Sanbo-Kyodan Zen tradition and a member of the European Association for Body-Oriented Psychotherapy. She is a regular practitioner of non-dual awareness and a student of Peter Fenner.
