About Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training
Somatic Experiencing Training is available in more than 25 countries worldwide, including the USA, Europe, South America, South Africa, the Middle East, and Asia. The Somatic Experiencing® Training is an accredited program by the Somatic Experiencing International (https://traumahealing.org). Successful completion leads to obtaining a Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP) certificate.
The Somatic Experiencing® Professional Training offers comprehensive, in-depth knowledge and a "map" for the neurophysiology of trauma theory and the principles of trauma processing. The intensive, modular training takes 3 years and consists of two, 6-day modules per year (providing a total of 36 days of classroom learning). This extended timeframe allows participants to practice and safely master newly acquired skills in both personal and professional areas, supplemented with ample supervision and individual sessions, all of which help integrate the learned material.

What we learn
Participants gain solid foundations and knowledge in instinctive survival responses, working with resources, Stephen W. Porges' polyvagal theory, connection dynamics, and working with bodily sensations. You can develop skills such as establishing appropriately paced dialogues, attuning to the client, gentle psychotherapeutic and body-oriented interventions that work directly with the body's neurophysiology, and deepen your knowledge in supportive, touch-based work. Extensive practice allows participants to apply the knowledge safely and effectively in clinical settings.
The acquisition of these skills is strengthened and aided by participants' own experiences, supported by the supervision of SEP assistants. Skills and concepts learned in each module can be immediately applied in your own professional practice.
